You know what time it is, ladies! Seasons are changing and all the fall festivities and winter holidays are just around the corner. And maybe, thanks to COVID-19 you are still working from home and feel drained because your home that was once a place of serenity has now become a place of stress. Either way, it can be hard to say no to things and keep a healthy balance between your personal/social life and work life.
With the upcoming holiday season upon us and everything in between, you may find yourself pulled in different directions and it can be hard to keep up. You don’t want to spread yourself too thin and not be able to give back as the best version of yourself.
But here’s a gentle reminder: when we plan, we are not called to say yes to everything.
Instead, let’s set boundaries when putting our goals or plans down on paper. Planning with boundaries in mind helps us to maintain our goals, which will set us on our road to success as the ambitious women we are meant to be.
Below are some thoughts on how to practically go about setting these boundaries that are goal and plan-driven:
1). Get yourself in order.
In The Ambition Planner, you will find it is spread by one day a page along with our S.M.A.R.T goal setter, which stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timely. These are all incredibly important to consider when optimizing not only our goals, but as well as our plans. When looking at your schedule for the day, do you believe is it attainable? Or is it too much on your plate?
We’re here to tell you that it is 100% normal to feel overwhelmed, but you have to do something about it in order to maintain everything so as to not miss out on the ambitious life God has called you to.
2.) Out with the old, in with the new.
Sometimes a wrench is thrown in our schedule or we may not fill out all the lines on our to-do list, but this is the beauty of having an undated, flexible schedule like the one in The Ambition Planner. A full schedule does not always mean high productivity and the most you can get out of your day.
Remember, white space can allow your creative juices to flow or spend more time with your loved ones. Every woman is different in what they prioritize and see fit to their work life, lifestyle and regimen, so take freedom in that! If you feel stress and pressure from others to do something, you may realize that setting boundaries will filter out the negativity in your life. Saying no to things that don’t fuel your ambition in life WILL set you off in the right direction. Saying yes to things that do fuel your ambition in life will ABSOLUTELY set you off in the right direction!
Having your plans laid out in front of you in your Ambition Planner will bring more clarity into your life and keep your priorities straight. Use the S.M.A.R.T goal setter along with you daily to do list to help you see what you want to commit your time to and what you don’t feel is worth your time - there is no shame in your game. Let’s take hold of an ambitious life by sticking to your plans as well as your boundaries!
With love,
The Ambition Planner
