Love Yourself to Success

Over the past year, we've all felt a surge in awareness about the importance of self-care. As Valentine’s Day and we focus on the ones we love, make sure you are taking the time to love yourself first. This V-Day, go out and buy yourself a beautiful bouquet of flowers or a delicious treat because you deserve it…but let’s be real, there are so many other different ways to show ourselves care and love (and, with fewer calories).

Look at it this way: Planning is a Form of Self-Care.

Value yourself and your well-being by setting yourself up for success, but success doesn’t happen overnight. It takes hard work, planning, and preparation. There is literally a mathematical equation to success


It’s like yin and yang…you can’t become successful if you have one but don't have the other. When an opportunity falls into your lap, you want to be prepared to take that on.

Planning is so crucial to the outcome of your growth in whatever it is you desire to change. Set goals for the future and create an outlined path as to how you’re going to get there. You have to invest in yourself if you want to become better—whether that is physically, personally, or financially. You are going to be your best investment and once you believe that, it’s absolutely amazing to see what you’re capable of and how far you’ve come already!

Let me tell you a story…

There is a young woman, 21-years old and fresh out of college. She’s got herself a part-time job and an amazing internship where she gets to learn so much and do what she loves. What’s next? This girl has big dreams and so much potential, but she’s overwhelmed by all of it because let’s face it—there is SO much opportunity out in the world.

Planning down to the last detail is the ONLY way she stays mentally grounded, otherwise it all becomes too much. You see, stress and anxiety usually comes from uncertainty.

The future is always going to hold surprises, but planning for the short-term future (say…90 days?) is the best way to take hold of your own story.

Nurturing your mental health is such an important part of showing yourself love, which means you have to create time to check-in and make sure you're in the right mindset. For example, when you sit down at your desk with a cup of coffee, I'm sure you can knock out a whole list of things to do but it's crucial to set limits for yourself and take mental and physical breaks to give your mind a rest. Self-care is knowing when to keep pushing but also knowing when it's time to give yourself a break.

Let me give you a little insight as to how you’re going to accomplish all you dream of. You’re going to create a clear plan of success, in fact, use your vision board to map out what you want to achieve in the next three months (helpful hint: it's in the back of every Ambition Planner). Envision yourself as if you have already made it—you’ve achieved your goals and you are living out your wildest dreams.

If you achieve one goal you can achieve your WILDEST dreams.
